Task/Problem Overview
Overview
This document will cover how to create meaningful pick lists to properly document reasons why users are doing certain actions within Savance Enterprise, i.e., Stock Adjustments, Cancelling Orders, etc.
Creating Pick List Options
To view the default pick lists and pick lists options that come already preset in Savance Enterprise go to:
- Admin > Administrator > Pick Lists tab
- Under the Pick List section of this screen, you will see all the actions in Savance where the pick list option appears. When you highlight an action on the left, you will see the current reasons to choose from under the picklist options. So for example, when you cancel a quote, the system asks for a reason this quote is being canceled. The default options are Price too high, Out of Stock, Other.
- Now you can’t create brand new Pick Lists, however, you can add, remove, and edit from the current list of options/reasons.
- To edit/add or delete an option, highlight the picklist on the left you want to edit. Next, highlight within the Pick List option and select Add. So, for example, I highlighted the picklist ‘Inventory Adjustment Reasons’, and the following default options appear: Broken, Missing, and User Error.
- I want to add a few more options to this list. I select Add and enter my new reason and hit ok.
- This new option will appear in the picklist.
- After I add my new items to the list I can use the UP and DOWN buttons to organize my picklist options in my preferred order.
- Continue this process for each Pick List, either by adding or removing options that are the best for your business needs.
Viewing Pick List Options
-
Now that you have configured the picklist options to best suit your business needs, you can now see them in action.
-
In my example above I added new picklist options for an Inventory adjustment. I decided to do a stock adjustment on an inventory item. When I view my reason for a stock adjustment I see my newly added options to choose from.
